British Manufacturing
The Fashion Trust is a keen promoter of fashion British manufacturing and has been encouraging local businesses to look at these possibilities wherever possible.
Never has there been a better time to look at the possibilities of British manufacturing in preference to overseas markets for bespoke and short run fashion manufacturing.
‘The Greats’ Campaign
New reports by Deloitte indicate Chinese and Indians are more likely visitors to the London Games 2012 and more than 60% would like to buy more British Products. With less than 45 days to go the #GREAT2012 campaign has been helping to promote Britain in key overseas markets and demonstrates the need to continue building on the Olympic legacy.
Especially launched by VisitBritain to promote ‘all things British’ in time to celebrate The Queens Diamond Jubilee and The London 2012 Games.
The ‘Shopping is Great Britain’ campaign is part of ‘The Greats’ and how Brighton, Hove and Sussex fashion businesses can take every opportunity to market their products and services during this important Olympic year.
Great British companies and organisations including the National Grid, BT, Burberry, McLaren, the Premier League, the London Stock Exchange, BAFTA, Land Rover Jaguar, British Airways, Virgin, ARM, Space NK, Laureus Foundation, Coutts, Universal Music, CBI and Mulberry are supporting the campaign. Other well-known companies such as Facebook UK, Google UK, EON Productions and Sony Pictures have also pledged support, with more to be announced.
Top British figures in sport, fashion, design, film and music, including Sir Paul Smith, Vivienne Westwood, Sir Richard Branson, Denise Lewis and James Bond will take part in the campaign as ambassadors for GREAT.
Victoria Beckham acted as an ambassador at the start of New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012, being photographed with other British fashion greats in a special shoot in New York .
